Tow train trailers to master any challenge

A tow train consists of a tow tractor and at least one, but usually multiple, trailers. Tow trains are ideal for transporting varying loads in warehouses or production facilities since they can be made up of very different trailers.

Particularly in just-in-time production, the perfectly timed supply and removal of materials to and from the production machinery is crucial. Traditional forklift trucks are of limited use for such applications since, in most cases, multiple trucks need to be used simultaneously. This would produce greater investment and ongoing costs, while the high traffic volume would also increase the risk of accidents. Tow train trailers represent an effective alternative as the train can service multiple machines consecutively and transport a wide range of goods on different trailers. They also incur lower costs and minimise the amount of traffic in warehouse and production facilities.

Shuttle channel racking for high throughput performance

Shuttle channel racking offers many advantages, ranging from the high throughput performance during complete filling and emptying of a pallet channel, to collision-free storage and retrieval of pallets as well as optimum space utilisation thanks to a low rack compartment height.

Our Shuttle channel racking systems – comprising a carrier, basic truck and channel rack – enable efficient use of your storage space. The racking offers sufficient height and width for multiple pallet channels. The low height utilisation per channel level allows effective use of the available storage height. Any Jungheinrich forklift truck with sufficient residual capacity can be used as a basic truck.

GTE 106 – 312

Robust E-frame trailer 0.6 - 1.2t

Our E-frame trailers guarantee the flexible, economical transporting of loads of up to 1200 kg weight per trailer. These can be connected as required so that loading and unloading can be guaranteed on both sides. The central axle ensures optimum directional stability even with long trains and in confined spaces.

The simple, ergonomic loading of the trolleys into the trailers can be done mechanically (GTE 106), via hydraulic lift (GTE 212) or via electrohydraulic lift (GTE 312). When loading, the load is pushed into the trailer on a trolley and mechanically locked in place. The lock is simply released for energy-conserving and space-saving unloading.

The electrically connected trailers (GTE 312) offer the best conditions for easy, reliable and clean operation. A high level of energy efficiency is guaranteed by the energy conversion directly in the trailer.

Features

  • Height capacity – 20 – 62mm
  • Lift capacity – 600 – 1200kg
  • Robust E-frame
  • Ergonomic operation
  • High energy efficiency due to electrical connection (GTE 312)
  • Clean and fast lifting with electro-hydraulic lift
  • High level of directional stability due to central axle

GTP 110-216

Robust portal trailer 1.0 - 1.6t

Our GTP portal trailers guarantee the flexible, cost-effective transportation of loads with a capacity of up to 1600 kg per trailer. The opportunity to pick up and unload trailers from both sides provides a flexible solution for all operations.

The portal trailers can be delivered with two steering systems: either with a simple steering/fixed castors principle or with a directional stability system for narrow spaces with simultaneous steering of all wheels.

Loading and unloading is precisely and quickly controlled using buttons for lifting and lowering. To unload, the trailer is lowered then manually pushed though the portal frame. Portal heights of 1.6 metres (standard) and 2 metres (optional) enable you to adapt the system to your individual needs.

The trailers are electrically connected, providing the best solution for easy, reliable and efficient operation. energy conversion directly in the trailer guarantees a high level of energy efficiency.

Features

  • Height capacity – 80mm
  • Lift capacity – 1000 – 1600kg
  • Robust portal trailer with double-sided loading options
  • Ergonomic operation
  • High energy efficiency with electrical connection

GTE and GTP

Trolley for large load carriers (LLC) 0.6 - 1.6t

Trolley for GTE and GTP

Trolleys are used to transport large load carriers (LLC) in a tow train, such as pallets or mesh boxes. In order to be able to handle the large load carriers at the destination without the use of additional equipment, it is possible to move the LLC manually with the trolleys. The trolleys are perfectly matched to the Jungheinrich GTE and GTP trailers.

The LLCs are placed on the trolleys, pushed into the trailers and mechanically locked. During travel, the trolleys are raised by the trailers, so that they do not run on their own wheels. This principle has the following advantages:

  • Low roll resistance: The wheels of the trolleys have optimised roll resistance due to the ball bearings and hard tread. When pushed manually only low forces are required.
  • Quiet operation: During travel, hard rollers are too loud and wear too quickly. When raised in the trailers, the trolley wheels are not under load. The trailer wheels are designed for driving, so they are quiet and low-wear.
  • Precise lane guidance: The frame of the trailer allows for much more precise lane guidance. In contrast, trolleys with four steering rollers have no lane guidance.
  • Easy to use: Thanks to their lifting platform, the GTE trailers also allow for the easy insertion and removal of the trolleys.

The Jungheinrich trolleys are therefore the ideal addition to the GTE and GTP tow train trailers.

Features

  • Lift capacity – 600 – 1600kg
  • Trolley for large load carriers (LLC)
  • Suitable for all Jungheinrich trailers
  • Available in several sizes and load capacities

Under Pallet Carrier 1.5t

Our Compact Storage System with UPC (Under Pallet Carrier) – consisting of carrier, carrier truck and channel racking – facilitates optimum utilisation of storage space. UPC racking provides sufficient height and width for several pallet channels. The low height utilisation per channel level also allows effective use of the available storage height. Any Jungheinrich fork lift truck with sufficient residual capacity can be used as a carrier truck.

The UPC is particularly effective during repeated stacking and retrieval in the same pallet channel or when buffering a large quantity of the same pallets. The UPC is put on the forks of the carrier truck and used in the pallet channel. There it travels independently under the stored pallets without being connected to the carrier truck.

After putting down the first pallet on the UPC rail in the racking channel and pressing the start button on the operating terminal, the controller carries out all necessary travel and lift movements independently. Sensors recognise the position of stored pallets. There is therefore no danger of collision when stacking and retrieving new pallets.

The operator can pick up another pallet while the carrier is travelling, place it at the start of the channel, start the next stacking operation and begin a new work cycle. The retrieval is carried out accordingly.

The operating terminal and controller communicate via bi-directional radio link run on the registration-free ISM band (433 MHz).

Features

  • Lift Height – 27mm
  • Lift capacity – 1500kg
  • Collision-free work
  • Flexible handling of different pallet types
  • Optimum space utilisation
  • Can be used with virtually any Jungheinrich fork lift truck
